WhatIstheVision1mSteplift?

The Vision is a step lift built around a hydraulic, scissor-frame platform, designed to provide access between two levels with up to one metre of vertical travel. The pump unit is integrated directly within the lift itself, rather than requiring a separate control unit location — this reduces the risk of vandalism, and means less builders' work and a faster overall installation, with Pollock stating a typical installation time of around 5 hours.

The Vision is rated for both wheelchair and ambulant users, with capacity for a user plus an attendant. It's suitable for both internal and external locations, and for domestic homes as well as public access buildings, manufactured by Pollock Lifts — a UK lift access specialist operating since 1983.

HowtheVisionWorks

The user approaches the lower level and boards the platform via the ramp or gate arrangement for their chosen configuration, with their wheelchair or mobility aid, and an attendant if needed

  1. The gate is closed, manually or via powered gate controls if fitted

  2. The integrated hydraulic pump drives the scissor-frame platform smoothly up to the next level

  3. The platform travels up to 1 metre to reach the upper landing

  4. The upper gate opens and the user exits at the new level

  5. A battery backup keeps the lift operational during a power failure, with a manual emergency lowering system as a further fallback

What is the maximum load capacity of the Vision 1m Steplift?

The Vision has a standard load capacity of 280kg, with a 340kg heavy-duty capacity option available.

What's the difference between Through Entry, Adjacent Entry, Pit Mounted and Bridging Steps?

Through Entry has a ramp and the user travels straight across, entering and exiting on opposite sides. Adjacent Entry uses a gate at the lower level with entry and exit on the same side. Pit Mounted sits within a prepared pit and needs no ramp at all. Bridging Steps spans one, two or three existing steps using an 800 x 1400mm platform.

What happens if there's a power failure?

The Vision is battery operated and continues to function during a power failure. A manual emergency lowering system is also available as a further fallback.

How long does installation take?

Pollock states a typical installation of around 5 hours, and the unit can be relocated later if your needs change.

What warranty does the Vision come with?

The Vision comes with a 12-month parts-only warranty as standard, with extended warranties of up to 5 years available covering service and maintenance costs.

Can the Vision be installed outdoors?

Yes. The Vision is suitable for both internal and external locations, with IP67-rated switching to protect the controls from water.
