HowtheClassicWorks
The user approaches the lower level and boards the platform via the on-board ramp (or fixed ramp, if fitted) with their wheelchair or mobility aid, with an attendant if needed
On Public Access models, the lower gate is closed manually before the lift is operated
The single rocker switch is used to start the platform moving
The integrated hydraulic pump drives the scissor-frame platform smoothly up to the next level
The platform travels up to 1 metre to reach the upper landing
The user exits at the new level; a manual emergency lowering system is available should the lift need to be lowered without power

What is the maximum load capacity of the Classic 1m Steplift?
The Classic has a load capacity of 280kg, with capacity for a user plus an attendant.
What's the difference between the Classic and the Executive 1m Steplift?
Both share the same 280kg capacity and 1 metre travel. The Executive adds Adjacent Entry as a configuration option along with automatic gates and a wider range of controls, while the Classic is the more cost-effective option with a simpler standard specification.
What is the Bridging Steps configuration?
It's designed to span one, two or three existing steps using an 800 x 1400mm platform with an on-board ramp, rather than requiring a Through Entry or Pit Mounted installation.
Can the Classic be installed outdoors?
Yes. The Classic is designed to be robust and hard-wearing, suitable for both internal and external locations, with IP67-rated switching to protect the controls from water.
How long does installation take?
Pollock states a typical installation takes one day with minimal building work, and the unit can be relocated later if your needs change.
What warranty does the Classic come with?
The Classic comes with 12 months parts and labour as standard, with extended warranties of up to 5 years available covering service and maintenance costs.
