Incline Platform Lifts

WhatIstheElevateGlide?

The Elevate Glide is an incline platform lift — sometimes called an incline platform stairlift — that travels along a rail fixed directly to an existing staircase using a rack and pinion drive system. Unlike a conventional stairlift, which seats the user on a small fold-down chair, the Glide carries the user on a platform together with their wheelchair or mobility aid. No transfer out of the wheelchair is required.

The Glide is suitable for both straight and curved staircases — the rail is custom-fabricated to follow the exact profile of the staircase it is fitted to, with a minimum rail length of 500mm and a maximum of 35 metres, covering everything from a short domestic staircase to a long commercial flight.

WhatIstheResidentialElevator?

The Residential Elevator is a through-floor homelift, providing smooth and quiet travel between floors with external controls on both levels. It sits close to the wall but isn't fixed to it, so when the lift isn't in use, the room it occupies stays free for everyday living.

It comes with Pollock's Intelligent Logic Diagnostic Interface as standard — a digital control system with benefits for end users as well as installers and service engineers, including simplified servicing and reduced fault-finding. The Residential Elevator is manufactured in the UK by Pollock Homelifts, part of the same Pollock Lifts group that's been in the lift access industry since 1983.

HowtheElevateGlideWorks

The platform folds flat against the wall or stair when not in use — 300mm clearance on leg mount, 245mm on wall mount

  1. The user unfolds the platform and boards with their wheelchair or mobility aid

  2. The arm and safety barrier are lowered into position

  3. The user operates the controls and the platform travels along the rail via the rack and pinion drive

  4. The anti-jamming safety switch and brake system continuously monitor the journey

  5. The platform arrives at the top or bottom landing and the user exits

HowtheResidentialElevatorWorks

The user calls the lift to their floor using the remote (radio) control, or wired surface/flush controls if fitted

  1. The user boards the cabin through the manual door, or powered door if fitted

  2. In-cabin controls and the diagnostic display let the user select their destination floor

  3. The traction drive (or optional hydraulic drive) moves the cabin smoothly and quietly between floors

  4. The Intelligent Logic system monitors performance throughout the journey, with battery backup keeping the lift usable if power is interrupted

  5. On arrival the user exits through the cabin door — the lift sits close to the wall but isn't fixed to it, leaving the room free for everyday use between journeys

What is the maximum load capacity of the Residential Elevator?

The Residential Elevator has a load capacity of 255kg.

What's the difference between traction drive and the optional hydraulic drive?

Traction drive is standard and offers quieter, cheaper-to-run travel with a higher maximum height of 4.2m (extendable to 4.8m). The optional hydraulic drive system has a lower maximum travel of around 3.4m, depending on cabin height.

What cabin sizes and heights are available?

Three cabin sizes — Compact, Twin and Large — each available in three cabin heights: 1800mm, 1900mm or 2000mm.

What is the Intelligent Logic Diagnostic Interface?

It's Pollock's digital control system, unique to Pollock Homelifts, including a trip counter, service due indicator, fault memory log, and self-check safety routine — all designed to simplify servicing and reduce fault-finding.

Can the lift be controlled remotely?

Yes. Optional Bluetooth lets you operate the lift using your phone, and a Voice Activation option supports Alexa integration so you can ask Alexa to call the lift.

Does the Residential Elevator come with a warranty?

Pollock Homelifts' brochure doesn't state a specific warranty period for this model — confirm exactly what's included with your installer before ordering.
