Incline Platform Lifts

WhatIstheElevateGlide?

The Elevate Glide is an incline platform lift — sometimes called an incline platform stairlift — that travels along a rail fixed directly to an existing staircase using a rack and pinion drive system. Unlike a conventional stairlift, which seats the user on a small fold-down chair, the Glide carries the user on a platform together with their wheelchair or mobility aid. No transfer out of the wheelchair is required.

The Glide is suitable for both straight and curved staircases — the rail is custom-fabricated to follow the exact profile of the staircase it is fitted to, with a minimum rail length of 500mm and a maximum of 35 metres, covering everything from a short domestic staircase to a long commercial flight.

WhatIstheEcoThroughFloorLift?

The Eco is a through-floor homelift, using an electric traction drive to transport a wheelchair-accessible or seated car between two floors through a cut opening in the floor. Compared to a typical hydraulic system, which needs a pump and ram to move the lift, traction drive needs around 56% less power to run, is roughly 19% quieter, and has no hydraulic oil to leak or thicken in cold weather.

The elegant design fits unobtrusively into the home — the lift is "called" only when needed, leaving the room it sits in free with full floor access the rest of the time. It's rated for a single person, wheelchair or seated, for internal domestic use only, manufactured by Pollock Lifts — a UK lift access specialist operating since 1983.

HowtheElevateGlideWorks

The platform folds flat against the wall or stair when not in use — 300mm clearance on leg mount, 245mm on wall mount

  1. The user unfolds the platform and boards with their wheelchair or mobility aid

  2. The arm and safety barrier are lowered into position

  3. The user operates the controls and the platform travels along the rail via the rack and pinion drive

  4. The anti-jamming safety switch and brake system continuously monitor the journey

  5. The platform arrives at the top or bottom landing and the user exits

HowtheEcoWorks

The user calls the lift to their floor using a remote control call station

  1. The car travels through the floor opening between levels, driven by the traction motor

  2. On arrival, the user boards the wheelchair-accessible, seated, or side-hung car

  3. In-car controls let the user select the level they want to travel to

  4. The self-levelling mechanism keeps the car aligned with the floor at each stop, with battery backup available if power is interrupted

  5. On arrival the user exits, and the lift can be called back when next needed — leaving the room it sits in free with full floor access in between

What is the maximum load capacity of the Eco Through Floor Lift?

The Eco has a standard load capacity of 255kg, reduced to 200kg for the 800 x 1400mm Wheelchair Configuration and the Side Hung Configuration.

What's the difference between traction drive and hydraulic drive?

Traction drive uses an electric motor rather than a pump and ram. It needs around 56% less power, runs roughly 19% quieter, has no hydraulic oil to leak, and reaches a higher maximum travel of 4.2m compared with around 3.6m for a typical hydraulic lift. A hydraulic drive system is available as an option if preferred.

What configurations are available?

Wheelchair, Seated, or Side Hung, each available across a range of car sizes, plus a choice of fixed, tip-up, perch or heavy duty seat options.

Can the Eco be used outdoors?

No. The Eco is designed for internal use only, within a domestic property.

What warranty does the Eco come with?

The Eco comes with 12 months parts and labour as standard, with extended warranties of up to 5 years available covering service and maintenance costs.

What happens if there's a power cut?

Battery backup is included as standard, so the lift can continue to be used if mains power is interrupted.
